We have a fantastic opportunity for a Team Leader working Monday to Friday 21.45 – 06.00.
Purpose of the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the organising of all manufacturing operations within the area, ensuring the most effective return on assets with no detriment to the operation.
Key responsibilities:
- Acting as a role model for all agreed people management practices, managing, guiding and coaching direct reports whilst demonstrating best practice at all times
- Building effective relationships with Management teams across the piece
- Developing employee engagement across the shifts and creating an Employer of Choice culture
- Responsibility for streamlining and continually improving manufacturing processes
- Advising and coaching Line Leaders to encourage an understanding and ownership of the management of team members
- Initiate plans and processes, which minimise manufacturing costs through effective utilisation of labour, equipment and materials
- Assure attainment of business objectives and productions schedules while insuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations
- Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, depending on need. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact based problem solving
- Improve manpower utilisation within existing departments and processes
- Schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies
- Manage spending against labour and material budgets in relation to changes in production volume
- Working to establish management practices, encouraging employee involvement, constructive feedback and action
- Continually improve safety record by addressing both physical safety issues and employee safety attitudes. Maintain and improve housekeeping/GMP in all areas
Skills and Experience required:
- Good communication skills are essential
- Managerial experience in a high volume production environment is essential
- The successful candidate will be an independent thinker with strong leadership skills
- The successful candidate will have the ability to plan and organise their work to meet deadlines and will be eager to learn
- Food production experience desirable
- Food and/or production related qualification would be advantageous.
