We were delighted to welcome students from Westhoughton High School to Stateside Foods in July.
Following our STEM sessions with Year 7 students earlier this year, we invited the winning teams to visit our site for a behind-the-scenes experience. During their visit, they met our engineering apprentices, enjoyed a pizza lunch, and had the opportunity to learn more about careers in food manufacturing.
Our apprentices shared their experiences of leaving school at 16 to begin an apprenticeship, giving students a real insight into what the role involves and the opportunities available. The students asked lots of thoughtful questions and were keen to hear first-hand about the skills, training and career progression that an engineering apprenticeship can offer.
It was a pleasure to inspire the next generation and showcase the exciting career opportunities available within food manufacturing.
