Angela (CSR & Learning and Development) and Amy (CSR Coordinator) visited Westhoughton High School this month, where they worked with over 250 Year 7 students.
During the session, they introduced the wider work of Stateside Foods, highlighting how multiple departments across our factories and Head Office collaborate to produce over 3 million pizzas each week for major supermarkets. The aim was to inspire students to consider future careers in food manufacturing and engineering.
Students then took part in a hands-on group challenge, designing and building a model capable of transporting a ping pong ball—mirroring the journey of a pizza along a conveyor belt. This activity encouraged the development of key employability skills, including communication, resilience, problem-solving, and teamwork.
The students were fantastic throughout, and we look forward to welcoming the winning teams to Stateside Foods later this year. They’ll have the opportunity to meet and interview our apprentices, as well as sample some of our pizzas!
