On Sunday 4th August, Stateside Foods held a charity cricket and rounders match in aid of Bolton Hospice at Westhoughton Cricket Club.
First up were the ladies- who took to the field in our first ever rounders game! Stateside A and B teams played well with lots of friendly competitive spirit and support for one another. Team A went on to be crowned the winners of the Stateside Rounders Cup with a fantastic score of 153 to 107! Player of the Match was awarded to Penny Wilson-Congratulations!

Next up was our T20 Cricket match- a much loved sporting event held for the 2nd year. The Stateside Reds and Blues were cheered onto the field by Cyril the Squirrel (the fabulous Bolton Hospice mascot!) First to bat were the Stateside Reds, posting a fantastic 154 for 11. The Stateside Blues had a challenge on their hands to beat the score set by the Reds. The Blues managed to post a great 126 for 13, although it wasn’t a winning score everyone played well. The Stateside Reds were presented with the Cricket Cup and Damion Wilson was voted as Player of the Match!

Thank you to everyone who played, came along to cheer on our teams, donated and bought tickets for the raffle! The event was kindly organised by Dennis Thomas and supported by Sophie Ledwidge who organised the Rounders team. Many thanks to Westhoughton Cricket Club who generously hosted the event for us. The event raised a huge £1957 for Bolton Hospice, which will go to supporting local people and their families receiving treatment for life limiting conditions in our community.
