Beginning his journey on 8th September- over three days, Phil Goodall (our Head of Sales) successfully cycled 248 miles from London to Paris raising money for Grocery Aid!
He travelled through the beautiful Surrey hills before crossing the channel into Northern France. From here he cycled through the Parisian suburbs and onto the magnificent Palace of Versailles. Finally, crossing the finish line in the magnificent capital of Paris! The weather was certainly not on Phil’s side, with torrential rain every day- but this didn’t stop him. From all at Stateside Foods, we want to congratulate him on this achievement!
Grocery Aid is our industry charity and one we feel very passionately about. They support anyone working in the grocery industry and their families in a range of ways- providing emotional, practical and financial support- 24/7.
The fundraising didn’t stop once Phil returned from Paris… We wanted to continue the journey by cycling back- aiming to cycle 248 miles in 2 days on our Stateside Food’s static bike in Direct House on 14th and 15th September. 17 colleagues from around the business volunteered an hour of their day (some 2 hours!) to sweat it out and have some friendly competition in the name of charity!
A fantastic £442.50 was raised for Grocery Aid. Stateside Foods match funded the fundraising to make a total of £943. The team cycled a total of 404 miles which was phenomenal! Thank you to everyone who took part and donated!
