Pupils at St James Primary School were saddened to see that their school Reading Garden had been attacked by vandals over the Spring half-term. The children had been raising money for the garden through various fund-raising events and were deeply upset on finding that their efforts and hard work had been wasted, and that the garden had been destroyed by what was thought to be ex-pupils.
Stateside Foods heard about the terrible news through the local newspaper, Bolton News and we contacted the school’s Principal, Lisa Belfield, to offer some help.
We sent a donation of £800 (the original amount raised by the children) so that the school could make the necessary repairs to the Reading Garden.
Lisa Belfield said, “The school team were thrilled with your donation and the children will be over the moon too!” Money that was left over after the repairs was used to buy new books for the children.
